When we feel at peace with ourselves, very little can shake us.
When we find our center, we are balanced and calm.
It’s not about what Life brings to us.
It is all in our ability to respond from a place of tranquility.
We often think that everything in our external world has to be calm for us to be calm.
We feel that when Life is hectic, with so many moving parts, we can’t settle down.
If there is drama at work or in our relationships, we can’t possibly be serene.
Yet what is on the outside is not nearly as important as how we feel on the inside.
If we have worked through most of our major trauma and our self-doubts, we change from the inside out.
When we come to accept ourselves for who we are, exactly as we are, how we feel on a daily basis changes.
We no longer base our emotional state on what is happening around us.
We can see things more clearly and not be rocked by external circumstances.
Because once we know we are okay, we are good, on the inside, then what happens on the outside is of far less important to us.
We can be the eye at the center of the storm.
We can be the rock for others when they are losing their heads over a crisis.
We can be the calming influence in an emergency.
Our stillness does not mean we don’t care.
Our peacefulness is merely an indication of our understanding of how Life works.
For when we come to peace within ourselves, we see peace in the world around us.
Things no longer have to be perfect.
For we now know that we are perfect, even with all our flaws.
