We all have sides of ourselves we prefer not to look at.
Some call it our Shadow, others our negative ego.
Many practices focus on getting rid of it.
That is a mistake.
For we can never truly get rid of something that is a part of us.
And it is there for a reason.
We created these aspects and programs within ourselves for protection.
Or to deal with trauma.
Or to save us from some great pain.
Whatever the reason, our Shadow served us in some capacity.
Now, it is time for us to learn to look at it.
To see it for what it really is.
To understand how it shows up in our lives.
And ultimately, to embrace it.
It is only by accepting our Shadow that we can begin to heal it’s wounds.
By recognizing it we can see how it has been showing up in our lives.
And when we have that awareness we then have the freedom to make a different choice.
To come from a different place.
To rewrite our story and act from a place of wholeness and not our wounds.
Yet that only happens when we are brave enough to look at our wounds and embrace them.
Then we experience true freedom…
