Perspective is something that comes with time.
When we are too close, we can’t see clearly.
We think something is good or bad for us.
And as time passes, we realize that perhaps we were wrong.
What at first glance looked bad, actually turns into a good thing in our lives.
Or perhaps the thing that looked great in the beginning turned out to be the biggest challenge for us.
Our minds love to put labels on our experiences.
It is quite difficult for us to remain neutral around the experiences of our lives.
Somehow, those experiences look very different over a longer period of time.
Yet the experience is the same.
Only our perspective changed.
Perhaps not being as close to the event changes how we feel about the event.
The lover who we were so taken by, now becomes annoying.
The annoying neighbor eventually becomes our best friend.
The job we loved when we started turns into a boring, stress-filled place.
The business we were terrified to start turns into the love of our lives.
When we learn that we don’t have perspective, it becomes easier to resist the labels.
We can learn to accept everything as something that can be good or bad for us.
So we stop labeling.
We stop judging.
We live in a place of neutrality.
Accepting everything that comes to us as a blessing.
It is all up to us.
We have the power to decide what any given circumstance means for us.
And we can learn to use it to our advantage.
Instead of being a victim of life.
Life is here to serve and support us, not to beat us down.
The choice is ours.
What is your choice today?
