We make time for all sorts of things in our lives.
We make time to work.
We make time to sleep.
We make time to eat.
We make time for family.
We make time for friends.
We make time for projects.
We make time for TV, movies, or hobbies.
When do we make time for ourselves?
When do we learn to put ourselves as a priority?
Making time for ourselves does not have to be complicated.
It does not have to be a chore.
It can be as simple as giving ourselves a few extra minutes before returning that phone call.
Or taking a walk around the block before going into the office.
Perhaps you just feel like taking the long way home for a change.
Or maybe, if you’re really daring, you actually schedule a free afternoon and plan nothing at all.
Making time for ourselves is not a luxury.
It is essential for our well being.
When we stop putting everyone and everything else before ourselves, we feel better.
We can then show up better in the world.
We have the capacity to do more.
We can be more present for those we love.
Taking time for ourselves to just be with ourselves is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.
So how can you give yourself some more time?
