Nourishment for the soul, for the spirit, is something we tend to forget about in our busy, day-to-day lives. We long for something to uplift us, to invigorate us, yet we find it so difficult to make the time an space for it to happen.
We feel as if we must get things done, accomplish something, in order to deserve some break, some vacation, some reward.
What we don’t realize is that if we don’t take that break when we need it, our inner child will rebel and cause us to do something or cause something to happen to us that absolutely will require the break, whether we like it or not.
Better to take the day off, go on a day trip, take a hike, even in the middle of the week, so we can return to work refreshed, renewed, and see things from a new perspective. In the end, that makes us more productive, more creative, and more likely to feel better about ourselves than not doing it.
