It is difficult to be in a place where we don’t know what to do.
Where there are either no choices or too many choices.
Where we are in something so unfamiliar, everything is confusing.
So the only thing we can do is sit with it.
We bide our time and wait for clarity.
And it certainly is not where we want to be.
Yet life has brought us there for a reason.
To learn or to grow.
The lesson is usually not apparent.
That’s part of the difficulty.
We are in that no where zone and we don’t know how or why.
So what are we to do?
How do we cope?
There is nothing to do, and that’s the point.
Sometimes, all we can do is sit and wait.
To be patient even though we are uncomfortable.
To wait for life to show us a way to move.
To give up the illusion of control.
Being lost is not a bad thing.
Our judgment of being lost is what hurts us.
If we can somehow find the strength to be okay with not knowing, we can move through it more easily.
When we allow ourselves to just say this is fine where I am, then the tides will flow again.
We will find our footing and figure out which way to walk.
It might not be in the direction we thought.
It might not go as fast as we desire.
Yet that is exactly how life works.
In it’s own time.
If we can practice giving up control before we find ourselves lost, we are better prepared.
When we learn to trust when there is not reason to trust, we have built up an important muscle.
For there will always be circumstances we’re not sure how to navigate.
There will always be unknowns to deal with.
And a little trust can go a long way in dealing with it all.
